The TNT original GETTYSBURG is a sweeping production depicting the events that led up to the Battle of Gettysburg and the three-day battle itself which claimed tens of thousands of lives turned the tide of the Civil War and eventually put an end to slavery in the United States. An excellent production illuminating the horrors and heroes of this uniquely idealistic war the film boasts terrific performances from Jeff Daniels Tom Berenger and Martin Sheen. The screenplay was based on the best-selling novel THE KILLER ANGELS by Michael Shaara.

When Andrews a Union spy leads a team of soldiers into the South to demolish the railway system things don't go as planned. The train conductor catches on to the plan and does everything he can to stop them! Buster Keaton featured the same story in The General.

William Holden NETWORK SUNSET BOULEVARD stars in this rugged Western--based on an actual incident--as a Mexican-Irish rancher who sells his herd to the Union army during the Civil War. An eye-patch-wearing Confederate colonel Richard Widmark tries to buy the cattle but apolitical Kelly doesn't sell to him solely because he doesn't think Confederate money will ever be worth anything. However the determined colonel kidnaps Kelly and forces him to steal the cattle back and drive them south to his hungry troops down in Virginia. Director Edward Dmytryk THE CAINE MUTINY provides the requisite roping shooting and punching; Johnny Mercer songs set the mood. There's also some romantic double-crossing as mansion owner Charity Warwick Victoria Shaw helps the colonel trap Kelly who later repays the favor by wooing the colonel's frustrated sweetheart Janice Rule.
