Ageless Fitness:Fresh Start
A light and gentle workout designed for all ages and body types. FRESH START! is a low-intensity, yet energizing exercise routine with simple moves that are easy to follow. It does not contain any floor work or jumping moves that could injure your joints. Also included are safety tips and exercise advice. The exercise routine can be performed standing or seated. Fresh Start! is a full-body workout that begins with a gentle warm-up to help prevent injuries that could be caused by cold and tight muscles and ligaments. The next segment is for toning your lower-body and consists of movements that will develop strength and balance. Upper-body strengthening exercises are next in our goal to developing balanced strength. The cool-down will stretch your muscles that have been warmed by exercise and increase their range of motion. As we age, we lose flexibility. One way to delay or even reverse this loss is to stretch your muscles when they are warm and supple. This is also good for the ligaments since they too shorten and become susceptible to injury over the years. IF YOU EXERCISE REGULARLY OR NEED A "FRESH START," THIS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE METHOD IS FOR YOU! "The videos are excellent. In fact, I sent them to my mother"! - Dr. E. Lee Rice
Doctor of Osteopathy "The Best Senior fitness video I have found. Safe and effective!!" - S. Keech Virginia Beach, VA "Your video is colorful, safe, fun - and you and your students are warm and encouraging." - M. Shaeffer Ottumwa, IA "This was an excellent video for a woman my age (72), stretching, weights, etc. Very well done. Dian speaks concisely, and her explanations are excellent." - E. Fee Homosasa, FL "I bought this tape for my mother who had never done a videotape for exercise. I did it with her to help her out. She loved it! Thank you!" - D. Hodge Brockport, N.Y.

Mental Fitness will calm the mind by focusing on the breath, relax the muscles of the body and increase memory. The mental exercises will diminish the effects of age-related memory loss; enhance alertness and the ability to focus; heighten spatial awareness and creativity using imagery techniques.
The first activity in the tape is "minding the breath." During the day, we have to pay attention to a number of activities. Doing many things at once can have its benefits, but, often for our brain it is wise to let the mind rest and focus only on one thing: breathing. The next step is to relax the muscles of the body. By bringing focus to the body we are using an effective technique for developing concentration and flexibility of attention simultaneously. By the time this segment is finished, it may feel as if the entire body has dropped away, or has become transparent, it can feel as if there is nothing but breath flowing freely across all the boundaries of the body. The next part is memory exercises and techniques to improve creative thinking and spatial awareness. The background music and sounds of nature are very relaxing. Beautiful scenery is pleasing to the eye. By practicing this video, you will:
- Enhance memory and diminish the effects of age-related memory loss
- Increase alertness and the ability to focus
- Experience muscle relaxation
- Develop a sense of inner peace
- Reduce physical, emotional, and mental stress
- Heighten spatial awareness and creativity using imagery techniques
