Aliens with nice faces and reptilian habits descend over the earth bringing a new and menacing world order with them in this landmark television miniseries. Sixty-five million viewers reportedly viewed the original broadcast. Disguised to look just like humans the aliens are actually lizard-like creatures out to strip the planet of its water supply and turn humans into food. Although most people are fooled by the visitors and allow the planet to be taken over by the fascist monsters a group of resistance fighters try to defeat these creatures. Helping the underground movement is a journalist Marc Singer who figures out just what the aliens are up to. The story concludes in V: THE FINAL BATTLE.

The Thorn Birds

Over the course of four decades a friendship between a boy and a girl turns sultry and stormy as they mature into adults. The boy becomes a priest and the girl becomes a wife. While Father Ralph is a model of piety Meggie Cleary is a mother with a family. Though they have separate devotions--God for Father Ralph a husband for Meggie--their unspoken allegiance is to each other. Will the twosome's longings overpower their better judgment? Or will they give in to their forbidden passions and risk destroying the lives around them and quite possibly their own?

Stephen King's The Shining (Two Disc Special Edition)

A made-for-TV mini-series based on the classic Stephen King horror novel STEPHEN KING'S THE SHINING is a tense psychodrama about a man named Jack Steven Weber whom accepts a caretaker job at a winter resort relocates his wife Rebecca De Mornay and child there and subsequently goes completely insane. Jack already in a slumbering state of depression seems to be taken over by supernatural beings within the resort leading him to threaten the lives of his family. More of a literal adaptation than the 1980 Stanley Kubrick film.
