*Est. $16.70 Compare

The Birds of Northwest Ecuador Volume 2: The Lowlands and the Lower Foothills is a 2-CD publication presenting vocalizations of many of the bird species found in the humid and wet lowlands and lower foothills of northwestern Ecuador. It contains 465 separate recordings of 253 species, many of them presented for the first time in an audio publication. Our goal of this summary version is to present the more often heard, most typical and spectacular bird sounds to the broader public. The area covered belongs to the "Choc? Endemic Area", which extends northward into western Colombia. It supports an exceptionally rich birdlife and the highest number of endemic bird species of any biogeographic region in South America. This publication is part of a series that will eventually cover all the birds of Ecuador, one of the richest avifaunas in the world.

Bird Songs of Mexico: Yucatan Peninsula Volume 1

*Est. $14.67 Compare

An essential guide to one of the world's great birding destinations. The first in a series of audio field guides to the birds of Mexico. This CD is a resource to scientists and bird watchers to enhance their ability to identify bird species in the region via their vocalizations and sounds. The vocalizations of birds in the Yucatan Peninsula, and Mexico in general, have not been comprehensively documented. This CD represents a long-term effort to document, archive, and disseminate recordings of bird vocalizations and the soundscapes in which these animals live and communicate. In light of the Peninsula's rapidly changing environment, documenting and archiving bird vocalizations is urgent. Because all of the recordings on the CD were made in the Yucatan Peninsula they also provide information on geographic variation (i.e., dialects) in species vocalizations.Includes a 32 page booklet with photos and text in both English and Spanish.
