In the first comprehensive documentary to chronicle the private life and public career of Joan Baez, How Sweet The Sound examines her history as a recording artist and performer as well as her remarkable journey as the conscience of a generation. How Sweet The Sound features interviews with David Crosby, Bob Dylan, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Roger McGuinn and others, as well as a candid conversation between Joan and ex-husband David Harris. The film is rich is historic archival material including footage of Baez' controversial visit to North Vietnam, Martin Luther King Jr. outside a California prison, where he visited Joan to offer his support after she was jailed for protesting the draft during the Vietnam War, and never-before-seen film of Joan as a teenager performing at Club 47 in Cambridge, where her career was launched in 1958.

Nearly 40 summers ago on August 31, 1970, 35-year-old Leonard Cohen was awakened at 2 a.m. from a nap in his trailer and brought onstage to perform with his band at the third annual Isle Of Wight music festival. The audience of 600,000 was in a fiery and frenzied mood, after turning the festival into a political arena, trampling the fences, setting fire to structures and equipment- and stoked by the most incendiary performance of Jimi Hendrix's career. As Cohen followed Hendrix's set, onlookers (and fellow festival headliners) Joan Baez, Kris Kristofferson, Judy Collins and others stood sidestage in awe as the Canadian Folk singer/songwriter and poet/novelist quietly tamed the crowd. This DVD/CD set contains a documentary by Murray Lerner and the full performance on CD. Included are live versions of classic songs from the first two Leonard Cohen LPs.

Oshkii Giizhik Singers' Debut Album won the 2009 NAMMY Award for "Best Traditional Recording" for the track "Anishinaabekwe"! OGS is an Indigenous women's handdrum group from Northern Minnesota. Members of OGS are from various Great Lakes Tribes. Tracks on this CD include some traditional and contemporary/traditional songs made by these strong Native American women. Beginning as a community-empowerment group, Oshkii Giizhik Singers has performed in many venues across Turtle Island (North America) singing out to call attention to the many issues that face Indigenous women today. This group is regularly mentored and advised by Indigenous women from the Great Lakes region. They have been the recipients of songs from many women and women's groups and hope to "pay it forward" for Indigenous women everywhere! It is a New Day!
