The likes of Lata Mangeshkar & Sonu Nogam, stand outs in the Indian Music Industry, have added tremendously to this film just with thier music. With a mix of dance music like Chaiiya Chaiiya, which features Shahrukh Khan singing and dancing on the top of a speeding train & other tracks like Jiya Jale, this album makes for one the best soundtracks in a long time.

The music of Asoka has a rhythm and life of its own as it recreates a heady mix of powerful sensuousness. THe high point of 'San Sanana' is the interesting use of the mridang. Sensuality casts its spell in Raat ka nasha as immensely engaging track. 'Roshni se' is a rich composition, which includes some awesome Buddhist chanting and the intriguing vocal chemistry between Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik. 'O re kanchi' captures the earthy feel of Oriya music, in addition to some funky drumbeats and enthusiastic vocals. 'Asoka', the theme piece is surreal and poetic, with appropriate use of the flute, violins and sitar. 'Aa tayar joja' proves to be a fast-paced, upbeat track that promises to grow on you after a couple of hearings.

Navidad de Los Andes (Andean Nativity) has its own distinct character, at once simple and elusive, like the magical realist tales of the region that inspire Dino Saluzzi's emotive music. "In this beautiful musical work sound is born with the intensity of the wind and the powerful progression of the sand that preserves memories. Between these forces, the melody creates spaces that rise or cascade slowly downward like empty skies. (...) Suddenly, the tango, an outsider, with a hat and a black moon, enters the scene. (From the liner notes by Leopoldo Castilla) Cellist Anja Lechner and clarinet and sax man Felix Saluzzi both appeared as soloists on Dino's orchestral recording El Encuentro, a shared pleasure in the work leading to the formation of the present trio, a group which draws on much musical history. Brothers Dino and Felix have more than 60 years of collaborations behind them. They started making music together as children in Argentina, and Felix frequently plays in Dino's "family band" projects. Anja Lechner has worked closely with Dino since the mid-1990s, beginning with the Kultrum alliance between Saluzzi and the Rosamunde Quartet. She has also toured widely in duo with the bandoneonist, and recorded with him on the critically-acclaimed Ojos Negros in 2006. The three musicians have arrived at a very unique sound-blend with bandoneon, cello, and clarinet (or sax), very integrated in a chamber music format that breathes with the apparent effortlessness of folk music. Neither "jazz" nor "classical" nor tango in a strict sense, temperamentally between the genres, Dino Saluzzi can hardly help but be `intercultural'. This open-minded music can likewise speak to a wide public.
